Jessica is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds two Masters degrees of Science in counseling, one from Northeastern University in Boston and one from Georgia State in Atlanta. She has a BA in Communications from UNC Chapel Hill. She has been fully licensed as an LPC since 2006.
Her resume includes working in a variety of settings with clients, particularly with adults and older adolescents. Some of her work experience includes:
- Providing individual and group therapy regarding career exploration at Boston Career Link
- Working as a graduate research assistant at Georgia State, studying the impact of HIV/AIDS on Atlanta’s transgendered community
- Providing individual, family, and group therapy in various inpatient psychiatric settings, including Skyland Trail and Ridgeview Institute
- Working as a Primary Therapist, Family Therapist, Residential Manager, and Center Director in a long-term residential substance abuse/dual diagnoses treatment center, Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences
- Serving as a therapist and case manager at Northside Hospital’s outpatient clinic
- Running a local community service board, Dekalb CSB, as Center Director, serving individuals with both mild, moderate, and severe and persistent mental illness
- Working as an outpatient therapist at Perimeter Therapy Associates on a part-time basis since 2010, focusing on a wide array of presenting concerns, from mood disorders to substance use disorders and many others
