Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has been with Perimeter Therapy Associates since 2021. Michelle has experience with a variety of ages, stages, and populations including: hospital support, home nursing and hospice care for children and adults, youth in the foster care system, foster parents navigating the adoption process, survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, individuals exploring sexual and gender identity development, and caregivers of children who are tracheostomy and ventilator dependent. She has completed two certificate programs: Accredited Training for Adoption Competency through Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.™) and George Washington University’s Graduate Certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice.*

Her current focus areas include:

  • Working with teens and adults experiencing grief, anxiety, and trauma related to a variety of experiences
  • Providing adoption competent therapeutic support to birth families, adoptive families, and adopted individuals
  • Supporting parents and caregivers of medically complex/medically fragile children
  • Supporting family members of children and adults who are on their journey through end-of-life
  • Facilitating group support for women experiencing anxiety and adults experiencing aging related stressors

Michelle’s approach to therapy utilizes solution focused, mindfulness based, and cognitive based strategies. She creates a safe environment to explore inner needs by bringing a genuine and empathetic technique.

*Training for Adoption Competency (TAC), a 12-month-long post-Master’s curriculum developed by the Center for Adoption Support and Education. TAC utilizes a combination of classroom instruction, discussion, and clinical consultation to equip mental health professionals to address the mental health needs and concerns of biological parents, adopted people, adoptive parents, and extended family members with multi-dimensional understanding and skill.

*The GW Graduate Certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice takes an applied care approach to tackling health care disparities affecting the LGBT community. The 18-credit program is designed specifically for professionals who work on the front lines with clients and patients, as well as those who work on the health care or policy side to serve the physical and mental health needs of the LGBT population.

If you are a telehealth client, please select the Doxy telehealth link above at our scheduled appointment time to login for our first appointment.

As part of our services, you will be given a sign-in for your patient portal by our helpdesk. If you did not receive a link for this in your e-mail, please contact the help desk at our main office number by dialing 678-666-4717 ext. 101.

Clients presenting for sessions more than 10 minutes past our scheduled start time are considered late cancellations and will be subject to the missed appointment fee specified in your paperwork.
