Psychotherapist  ·  Shamanic Practitioner  · Medicine Guide

David is a trauma-informed licensed psychotherapist and Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Provider who brings over twenty years of experience guiding profound personal transformation. As a sanctioned teacher within the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition, his work bridges clinical precision with ceremonial depth—offering a rare integration of modern psychology and ancient wisdom.

Holding a Master’s degree from Emory University in Nature-Aligned Medieval Mysticism and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College, David’s path has been devoted to exploring the intersection of spirituality, ecology, and the human psyche. His work is grounded, discerning, and deeply attuned to the complexity of healing in today’s world.

David is known for creating high-integrity, immersive spaces where meaningful change can unfold. Within these carefully held containers, clients are supported in releasing long-held patterns, regulating the nervous system, and reconnecting to a clear, embodied sense of self. His approach blends integrative psychotherapy, somatic awareness, and consciousness-based practices—each experience tailored to meet the individual exactly where they are.

With over twenty years of dedicated shamanic practice, David has become something rarer than a skilled clinician — a seasoned holder of sacred space whose presence itself is medicine. Those who work with him often describe a quality of safety that arrives before any technique, a stillness that creates room for what has never felt safe to surface.

  • Individual counseling in both residential and community settings
  • Group counseling in both residential and community settings

Instructions for David’s New Clients at Perimeter Therapy:

Hello! I am looking forward to meeting you for our first appointment. I want to ensure that you have the information you need so that we will be ready to meet. Before we can begin treatment, you should complete all of the necessary paperwork. There is a link on this page to access the paperwork, fill the paperwork out and sign the paperwork electronically through DocuSign. Once you have completed the paperwork, I will receive the paperwork and complete my portion and then you will need to upload the paperwork to your theraportal account.

Please do not fill out paperwork prior to scheduling an appt with the office by calling 678-666-4717 ext 101.

All forms must be completed prior to our first appointment. If you have difficulty, please call me directly at 678-666-4717 ext. 110 or email me prior to our appointment at david@burningbearhealingarts.com.

A note about my email address.  I am contracted under my business name, Burning Bear Healing Arts, as a therapist for the group practice Perimeter Therapy Associates. The email platform that I use is completely secure and HIPAA compliant, so you should feel confident your information is safe.

For my telehealth sessions, I use a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform called Doxy.  At the time of the appointment, or a few minutes prior, go to the Perimeter Therapy Associates website, click on the link for therapists, go to my bio page and click the link Start Telemedicine Call.  It is important that you do not try to click on telehealth in your theraportal account. That does not work as the doxy link is separate from your theraportal and our practice software. If you have any difficulty connecting, please call me directly at 678-666-4717 ext 106 at the time of our appointment.

As part of our services, you will be assigned a sign-in for your patient portal by our receptionist. If you do not receive a link for this in your e-mail, please contact the receptionist at our main office number by dialing 678-666-4717 ext. 101 or emailing info@perimetertherapy.com.

Please call or email the main office to cancel or re-schedule appointments. Patients are responsible for missed appointments that are cancelled less than 48 hours in advance. You can always use your patient portal to cancel and re-schedule appointments in addition to the receptionist at 678-666-4717 ext. 101 or emailing info@perimetertherapy.com.
